Blake Alan Johnson, 26, of Genoa, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, in Fremont, Ohio. He was born in Oregon, Ohio, on June 15, 1998, the son of Laura (Harrison) and Brian Johnson. He was a graduate of Genoa Area High School, class of 2016.
Blake had a big heart and was a kind and loving person who cared deeply for others. He loved playing basketball and was always ready for a pick-up game. When he was young he played baseball with the Genoa Little League and was coached by his grandfather, Stan. Blake attended St. John’s United Church of Christ in Genoa and was an avid OSU and Cleveland Browns football fan. He had been working for a marina in Port Clinton, Ohio, a job he thoroughly enjoyed.
Blake is survived by his mother and stepfather, Laura & Nick Szyskowski, sisters, Brooke Johnson and Elizabeth Szyskowski, and grandparents, Stan & Darlene Harrison, Mike & Coleen Szyskowski, along with his cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Brian Johnson and grandparents, Ray & Marlene ‘Sue’ Nissen, Don & Mary Kay ‘Babe’ Johnson.
The service for Blake will be private with interment in the Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, Ohio. Blake’s family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be directed to Legends Recovery, 430 N. Broadway St., Green Springs, OH 44836, or Lighthouse Sober Living, P.O.
