Bina May Delamater

Bina May DeLamater age 96 of Toledo, Ohio passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. Bina May was born in Arlington, OH on April 2, 1919 to James Alva and Martha (Minshall) Crosser. She earned her BS in Education from Ohio Northern University and was employed at Toledo Public Schools for 20 years and taught 1st grade at Sherman Elementary. Bina May was a founding member of Christian Fellowship of Toledo and more recently attended Peace Reformed Church in Napoleon, OH. She taught child evangelism classes for 20 years and volunteered for the Christian League for the Handicapped. She was a caregiver throughout her life and had a gift for showing Mercy to others. Bina May loved her family; enjoyed quilting, sewing and traveling. She is survived by her children, Dr. Paul (Chrstie) DeLamater, Carol Ann (Dan) Shoop and Mary Beth (Brian) Shoop; sister, Donna (Everett) Swinney; grandchildren, Marcie (Jason) DeLamaker Haymaker, Kevin Shoop, Kellie (Ryan) Shoop Klusch, Meredith (Mark) DeLamaker Priestap, Dr. Joseph (Kelly) Shoop and Jeffrey (Rosie) Shoop; great-grandchildren, Caleb Haymaker, Emily Haymaker, Madeline Priestap, Jonah Shoop, Jackson Priestap, Kendra Klusch, Hannah Shoop, Mckenna Klusch, Hudson Priestap, Carson Klusch, Buster Shoop and Alvie Shoop. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. DeLamaker and brother, William V. Trowbridge MD. Family and friends will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 3-8 PM. Interment will be private at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. A memorial service for Bina May will be held at Christian Fellowship of Toledo, 6711 Pilliod Rd. Holland, OH 43528 on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Fellowship of Toledo or Peace Reformed Church, Napoleon, OH.
