Billy Cockrell, Sr.

Billy Cockrell, Sr. passed away on August 4, 2020 in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Billy was born July 6, 1954 in Ruleville, MS and was raised in Hayti, MO. He moved to Toledo, OH where he met his wife, Albertha in 1982, and they married in 1984. Although he was a dedicated forklift operator for 29 years, those who loved him will remember him most for his love of auto repair, basketball, and western style movies. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Albertha; sons, Marty Mason, Billy Cockrell, Jr., Momolu Cockrell, Sr.; brother, Thomas Cockrell; and sister, Ruby Cockrell. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernella Cockrell and brother, Mac Cockrell. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until the time of service at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). Interment will follow at Forest Cemetery. Due to the recent health orders from both the State of Ohio and the Lucas County Health Department, those in attendance are required to wear a mask.
