Billie Jean Harris

Billie Jean Harris, age 82, of Toledo, Ohio died Monday, August 31, 2015 Ebeid Hospice. She was born on January 26, 1933 in St. Charles, Virginia to Columbus and Marie (Harbor) Marlow-Jessee and on October 12, 1951 she married Jack Harris Sr. who preceded her in death on November 5, 2008 after 57 years of marriage. Billie worked as a Waitress for both the Surf Supper Club and Opperman’s Restaurant. She enjoyed playing Bingo, gambling at local casinos and garage sales. She is survived by her children, Danny (Tammy) Harris, Wanda (Everett) Spangler, Jack (Kim) Harris Jr., Rhonda Jordan, and Jill (Charles) Smith; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brothers, John “Byrlie” (Darlene) Jessee and Steve “Cornel” (Norma Jean) Jessee. Billie loved her role as an adoptive grandmother to the Childers’ children who lived noxt door. In addition to her husband, Billie was preceded in death by her mother; Marie Marlow-Jessee; father, Columbus Marlow; step-father Clifford Jessee; daughter, Wilma Lou Harris and her son, Gary Harris, Sr. Friends will be received on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879) where funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be private. Those planning an expression of sympathy may do so in Billie’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
