Beverly Nana Ontko, 68, of Oak Harbor, died Friday, December 21, 2018, at Riverview Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor with her family by her side. She was born June 20 1950, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Alvin A. and Vera M. (Saddoris) Witt. On March 8, 1973, in Blackberry Corners, Ohio, she married David M. Ontko and he survives. Beverly graduated in 1968 from Gettysburg High School in Pennsylvania. She worked as a nurses assistant at Riverview for ten years and at the Genoa Retirement Village for three years. Baptized at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Blackberry and reaffirming her baptism at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Beverly then became a member of St. Boniface in Oak Harbor and helped with the luncheon committee, served as Eucharistic Minister and Honorary Tee. As well as working in nursing, she was also a homemaker and caretaker for her husband, David. Her many hobbies included sewing, crocheting, canning, fishing with her husband and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Beverly was always kind to everyone and was Mom to the neighborhood kids. In addition to her husband, David, Beverly is survived by her children: Michael (Traci) Ontko, Steven Ontko, Tina (Jarrett) Marinis and Sara (Daniel) Toris; grandchildren: William Ontko, Jessica (Jesse) Fox, Cheyenne Ontko, Darian (Adam) Smercina, Brianna Marinis, Annabelle Toris, Penelope Toris, Adaline Toris and Daniel Toris III; step grandchildren, James McCune and Reid Crow; four great grandchildren; and all the neighborhood kids who knew her as Mom. She is also survived by her brothers, Randy Witt and David Sarnes, and sister, Kandy (Ed) Thurn. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, step parents, Alvin Sarnes and Polly Witt, step granddaughter, step-great granddaughter and brothers, Russell Witt, Steven Witt and Fred Sarnes. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Friday, December 28, 2018, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. A Parish Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 29, 2018, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, where the body will lie in repose one hour prior to the Mass.
