Betty Jane Younker, 92, of Martin, died Tuesday morning, February 10, 2015, at her daughters residence. Betty was born January 10, 1923, in Woodville, Ohio, to Charles and Pearl (Fritz) Ameling. On May 25, 1946, in Woodville she married Harry L. Younker, who preceded her in death April 23, 2004. She had formerly worked as a secretary for Ohio Hygrade in Woodville and the Erie Proving Grounds in Port Clinton. Betty was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston and had played in the bell choir. She made over 100 comforters, which were sent all over the world. She enjoyed playing cards and bowling. Betty also belonged to the farm bureau council. Betty is survived by her daughter, Karen S. (Danny) Jeffers of Martin and son, Robert A. Younker of Genoa, grandchildren, Michelle L. (Eric) Younker-Jimerson, Marianne L. (Thomas) Briggs, Staci L. (Travis) James, Brian D. Jeffers and Kimberly N. (Ryan) Merrow, and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Norman (Lillian) Ameling and sister, Edna Giesler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Harold, Robert and Paul Ameling, and grandson, Michael Jeffers. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 12, 2015, at St. John Lutheran Church, Williston, with visitation from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. prior. Interment will take place in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. Memorials for Betty may be given to St. John Lutheran Church Roof Fund, 21140 W. Toledo St., P.O. Box 235, Williston, OH 43468; and Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, has assisted the family with arrangements.
