Betty J. Rick

Betty J. Rick, 84, of Perrysburg, passed away, Friday, December 28, 2018. Betty was born in Perrysburg, Ohio, February 28, 1934 to the late Marsil and Mildred (Brown) Dhondt. Betty loved crafting, she embroidered beautiful pillowcases and gave them as gifts. In 2006 Betty won 1st place for Best Front Yard in the “Perrysburg Bloom” contest. She had an artistic soul and loved to add beauty to everything around her. Left to cherish Betty’s memory are her children, Jack (Nancy) Rick Jr., Debra (Ronald) Barr, and Wade (Christie) Rick; grandchildren, Jennifer House and Jack Rick III; siblings, Joyce (Jim) King, Bill (Eva) Dhondt, Nancy Friend, and Rosemary (Fred) Durbin. Betty was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Jack Rick; 2nd husband Ron Grogan; daughter, Cynthia Forkapa; grandson, Tamar Harvey; and brothers, Daniel and Marsil, Jr. Dhondt. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to the Wood County Humane Society, 801 Van Camp Road, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. with a Funeral Service starting at 4:00 P.M. at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 East South Boundary Street Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419-874-3133).
