Betty J. Nissen

Nissen Betty J. Betty J. Nissen, 80, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008. Betty was born December 10, 1927 in Toledo, OH to Dale and Ann Periatt. She was a graduate of Woodward High School and married Richard Nissen shortly before her 20th birthday at St. Michaels Church in Toledo. Betty and Richard raised their family in Toledo and enjoyed sailing and camping. Betty was a lifetime member of the Monroe Boat Club. She worked in retail sales at LaSalles for 23 years until retiring in 1990. Betty is survived by her daughters, Nancy Levkus, Bonnie Tom Holzscheiter, and Pat Tony Guido; grandchildren, Julie Brad Hennon, David Ami Holzscheiter, George Guido, and Katie Andy Oberley; 4 great-grandchildren, Jenna, Andrea, Ashley, and Travis; sisters, Gail Bob Martin, Sharon Periatt, and brother, Arthur Rita Periatt. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years, Richard; and brother, James Periatt. Visitation will be held Monday from 12-8:00pm at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey Rd. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donors choice.
