Betty J. Michelson, 91, of Toledo, passed away July 9, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Betty was born October 29, 1924 to Charles and Eva Zattau. She married Kenneth Michelson on October 29, 1945 and they enjoyed 60 wonderful years together until his death in 2005. Betty was employed at Reichert Stamping Company retiring after 39 years as Assistant to the CEO and President. Upon retirement she and Ken spent many happy summers at their home at Vineyard Lake with their family and friends. Betty and Ken were very active in the support groups at the Anne Grady Center. Betty served on the Board of Directors for several years and also was a member of the Human Rights Committee for over 20 years until illness forced her to resign. She was an avid quilter and crafter; making many quilts that were given to family members for newborns, graduations, weddings and other special occasions. After Kens death, Betty joined a quilting group at Westgate Chapel, and the Senior Group (Keenagers) where she made many friends. She volunteered for several years at Flower Hospital making stuffed frogs for the pediatric department. Survivors include her beloved son, Kenneth and daughter-in-law, Carol; cherished granddaughters, Melanie (Mark) Neumann and Erin (Eric) Kozina; great grandchildren, Nathan Rowe and Avery Kozina, Megan and Joshua Neumann and Nicole Arhangelos; great-great grandchild, Isabella Arhangelos; beloved sister, Joyce Kretz; sister-in-law, Cherie Zattau; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ken; son, James; daughter, Elizabeth; granddaughter, Pamela; brothers, Charles, Robert, Donald, Richard, Frederick and Jack Zattau; and sister, Lucille French. Visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016. Private interment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Anne Grady Center.
