Betty Lou Mattlin-Rising

Elizabeth L. Betty Lou Mattlin-Rising, 69, formerly of Liberty Center, Ohio and recently of Genoa, Ohio, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Betty Lou was born in Colton, Ohio on May 15, 1943 to Robert G. and Thelma L. Yarnell Guyer. She married J. Harold Mattlin in Toledo, OH and he died on February 18, 1990. On January 14, 1992 she married Charles Rising in Liberty Center and he died on October 9, 1997. Betty Lou was a Licensed Practical Nurse, working a number of years at the former Riverside Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. Betty Lou was a member of the United Methodist Church in Liberty Center where she was active in the Womens Group, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed life through working in her flower beds and garden, taking walks, reading, crocheting, and needle-work. Betty Lou is survived by her sons, John H. Mattlin of Houston, TX, and Jason R. Veronica Mattlin of Genoa, sisters, Barbara Jim Shambarger of Liberty Center, Carol Stephen Asher of Sana Monica, CA, Rebecca Charles Cleaney, Houston, TX and brother Steven Guyer of Liberty Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, daughter, Lisa Marie Mattlin, and brother, Robert H. Guyer. A memorial service for Betty Lou will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the United Methodist Church, 307 East St. Liberty Center, OH 43532. Interment will be in the Young Cemetery, Liberty Center. The family suggests memorial contributions, in Betty Lous name, to the church.
