LUMBATTIS BETTY CARVER Betty Carver Lumbattis, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013, in Kingston Care Center of Sylvania at the age of 97. She was born March 5, 1916, in Toledo to George G. and Effie Speas Carver. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and the University of Illinois where she was a member of A O Pi sorority. She was an avid bridge player, dog lover, Gold Member of the Toledo Zoo, and a member of the Inverness Club, the Toledo Club and Collingwood Presbyterian Church, where she belonged for over 60 years. She and her husband would winter in Sarasota, Florida, where she was a member of the Palm Aire Country Club and the Presbyterian Church of the Palms. She was a loving wife and mother. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J. Carson Lumbattis. She is survived by her daughters Ann Thomas Veith and Sara William Locke; grandchildren Bryan Julie Veith and Julianne Marcus Brubaker; great-grandchildren Logan and Marissa Veith and Eowyn and Kara Brubaker; and nieces and nephew Carleen and Gus Carver, Penny Dean and Candy Woodbury. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Wednesday after 10 AM where funeral services will follow at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
