Betty Ann (Gilts) Loveday, 87, of Oregon, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Toledo to Glenn and Hilda (Reaume) Gilts on March 6, 1930. Betty was married to Clifford Loveday, who preceded her in death in 1998. She was a proud 1948 graduate of Libbey High School and enjoyed attending reunion lunches. After raising her children, she was employed at A. H. Jamra Co. Following retirement she was a volunteer at St. Charles Hospital in the Cardiac Rehab/CHF clinic. Betty attended Mainstreet Church and, when able, participated in Bible study. Above all else was her love of family. Spending time and making memories with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest gift. Visiting family members in Canada was always a highlight for her. Betty loved to travel and enjoyed many memorable vacations with her family and cousins. Betty is survived by her children, Susan Thomasson, Jeff (Debbie) Loveday, Julie (Tim) Wiegand, Joan (David) Wiegand; grandchildren, Erin Parseghian, Andrew Thomasson, Alex (Kristen) Thomasson, Ben Loveday, Courtney (Chas) McDonald, Lyndsey Wiegand, Ryan (Corey) Wiegand, Kelsey Wiegand; eight great grandchildren; brother, Richard (Joyce) Gilts; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Along with her husband, Clifford, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Meryel Gilts; and son-in-law, Jim Thomasson. Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 beginning at 2:00 P.M. at Hoeflinger-Bolander Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, Ohio (419-691-6768), with a funeral service taking place at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions in Betty’s name be made to Alzheimer and Dementia Care Services or to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
