Betty Kunke

Betty C. Kunke, 94, passed away on May 28, 2023 in the care of Capitol City Hospice. She was born in Lucas County on June 20, 1928. Her parents Vernon C. and Mary E. Miller raised her in Toledo. Betty married her sweetheart, Donald F. Kunke in Macon, GA on January 16, 1945.

Betty enjoyed square dancing, and round dancing with her husband. They RV camped east of the Mississippi River with her family. She enjoyed watching Alan Ladd, Audie Murphy movies and was a fan of Betty Boop. She loved music, especially Alan Jackson. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Betty adored her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who will miss her greatly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandchildren, Chad Metzger and David M. Drago; son-in-law, Mike DeMoe. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Jerry Anteau) Crosby, Sue DeMoe, Louanne (Mike) Pelechaty, and Rose (Chuck) Laster; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received at Walker Funeral Home-Oregon Chapel, 3500 Navarre Ave, Oregon, Ohio 43616 on Monday, June 5, 2023 from 10:00 am-11:00 am with a funeral service at 11:00 am. A burial will follow at Elliston Cemetery. Those wishing to donate in Betty’s name may do so by a charity of the donor’s choice.
