Betty J. Weaver, 77, of Woodville, formerly of Genoa, died early Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in Otterbein-Portage Valley, Pemberville, Ohio. She was born March 27, 1933, in Auburn, Indiana, to John and May Stebing Reid. She worked at the former Genoa Car Wash for many years and retired in 1996 after 10 years as a cashier at Hardees on the Ohio Turnpike. Betty was a Cub Scout leader of Pack 310 during the mid 1960-80s. She was a Toledo Mud Hens fan and attended many of their ball games. She also loved Bluegrass music and cats, of which she had many cats over the years as pets. Betty could always be found with her twin sister, Bessie. She is survived by her sons, Arthur Brenda Weaver of Genoa and Dennis Weaver of Fremont, daughters, Lynore Jean Costilla of Whitehouse and Nancy Charlie Mahjoobi Weaver of Arlington, VA, four grandchildren, and twin sister, Bessie Swift of Woodville. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Merle Weaver, and son, Leon Weaver. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Thursday, February 24, 2011, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Genoa. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2011. The family will schedule a private graveside service at a later date in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be directed to Woodville Vol. Fire Dept. EMS or to the Allen-Clay Fire Dist. #3, Genoa. The family extends a special thank-you to the staff and residents of Otterbein-Portage Valley and Southern Care Hospice for their loving patience and care.
