Betty Ann Hostetter

Betty Ann Hostetter, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Reading, MI at the age of 95. She was born in Toledo on January 17, 1917, to Fred and Harriet Worthington Niedermaier. In 1942 she married William Walter Hostetter in Fort Dix, NJ prior to his departure to fight in WWII as a Staff Sergeant with the Army Air Corp. She graduated from Scott High School in 1935. In 1995 she retired from Consumer Guild Foods as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed volunteering at the Flower Hospital Guild, Friendly Center, Monroe Street Methodist Church, and Elizabeth Scott Community along with other organizations. Betty loved family, bridge, bowling, and going to their cottage at Hemlock Lake in MI. Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; sister, Jean Kern; and her parents. Surviving are her sons, David Marcia Hostetter of Marble Head, MA, Michael Vicki Hostetter of Reading, MI; her daughter Pamela Dargan of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandchildren, Breck Matt Heidl, Amy Tom Harney, Lisa Landis, Kimberly Nathan, Cole, and Gregory Katherine Hostetter; 9 great grandchildren; nieces and nephew. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Monroe Street Methodist Church, The Alzheimers Association, or Hospice of Hillsdale County. A special thank you to Mary Jacobus and staff at the Covenant Care Home in Reading, MI for their exceptional care of mom.
