Betty J. Heissenbuttel

Betty Jane Heissenbuttel, 99, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Maplewood of Twinsburg Senior Living Community, Twinsburg, Ohio. Betty was born November 13, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles and Edna (Burrows) Coats.

On June 14, 1947 she married the love of her life, Edward Heissenbuttel on June 14, 1947 and shared 66 years together until he passed on October 27, 2013. Together they raised their two children.  Betty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She did however, have an independent streak!

Betty enjoyed her dogs, gardening and world affairs.  She was an avid conservationist before it was fashionable.  She was also a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan.

She is survived by her children; Charles Heissenbuttel and Janice (Andrew) Isakoff and grandchildren, Mickey Isakoff and Danny Isakoff. Along with her husband, Betty was proceeded in death by her parents and brother, Charles Coats.

Friends and family will be received Friday, February 11, 2022 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133) where funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.
