Betty L. Havens

Betty L. Havens, 76, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 in the Toledo Hospital, Toledo, Ohio. She was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on August 3, 1940 to Floyd and Gladys (Gahn) Ward. She married Alfred P. Havens in Oak Harbor, Ohio on August 24, 1957 and he survives. Betty loved her family and her church and enjoyed her role as pastors wife. For many years she helped her husband Alfred with his pastoral duties where ever he served. She was a member of Church of God of Prophesy. She enjoyed crafting and in years past, horseback riding, but she was known by many for her candy and Christmas cookie making. Betty is survived by her husband of almost 59 years, Alfred, daughter, Debra (Ken) Hughes, sons, Robert (Debra) Havens, Ricky (Laura Pastor) Havens, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and siblings, Carolyn Robertson and Floyd Ward. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service for Betty will be conducted at 10:30 AM, Friday, August 26, 2016 at Erie Shores Assembly of God Church, 220 S. Gill Rd., Port Clinton, Ohio 43452. Visitation will be in the church from 4-8 PM, Thursday, August 25, 2016 and Friday morning from 9:30AM until the time of service. Interment will be in the LaCarpe Cemetery following the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 216 Washington St., Port Clinton, Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
