Betty Grolle

Betty Rose Grolle Betty Rose Grolle, 92, of Perrysburg, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Kingston of Perrysburg with her family at her side. She was born on August 22, 1926 in Ottawa, Illinois to Edward and Anna (Drury) Hess. Betty married Robert C. Grolle on May 1, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 2010. Betty worked outside of the home in various office positions. She was a longtime member of Zoar Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and was an active member of the Rachel Circle. She was a founding member of a very close knit farm council in the Wood County Farm Bureau. She loved preparing meals and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Linda (Dan) Pilz, Judy Leybourn and William Grolle; grandchildren, Bryce (Nicki) Pilz, Kyle (Andrea) Pilz, Stephen Leybourn and Jonathan (Erin) Leybourn; great-grandchildren, Talen, Liam, Emme and Hail Pilz and Vivian Leybourn; brother, Norm (Judy) Hess; sister-in-laws, Katharine Hess and Joyce (Jim) Ryder as well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Along with her husband, Robert, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Ed, Wayne (Marge), and Jerry Hess and brother-in-law, Dale (Jane) Grolle. Friends and family will be received Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4-6 PM at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Funeral service and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio Chapter, 225 N.
