Betty J. Geldien

Betty J. Geldien, 94, of Oak Harbor, died Sunday afternoon, May 8, 2016, at Riverview Healthcare Campus in Oak Harbor. She was born March 22, 1922, in Huron Ohio, to Fred and Laura (Lindsley) Sarnes. On June 20, 1942, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she married Robert M. Geldien, who preceded her in death July 23, 2015. Betty was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed making a home for her family. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Rocky Ridge and also a former member of the Eagles, the American Legion Auxiliary and TOPS. Betty enjoyed playing cards with her card club, playing BINGO, fishing and traveling the United States with her husband, Bob. She especially loved gardening, flowers, canning with her sisters and spending time with her grandchildren. Betty is survived by her sons, Robert J. (Judy) Geldien, Florida, Frederick L. (Vicki) Geldien of Port Clinton and Mark D. (Kimberly) Geldien of Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Christopher Geldien, Wendy (Brian McDonald) Geldien, Jayme (Julie Wagner) Geldien, Kenny (Erica) Geldien, Alicia (Aaron) Kerr and Alana Geldien. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob. Funeral services for Betty will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 12, 2016 at St. John Lutheran Church, Rocky Ridge with visitation two hours prior from 9-11 a.m. at the church; Pastor Holli Burkard officiating. Interment will follow in Limestone Cemetery, Graytown. Memorial contributions for Betty may be directed to Riverview Healthcare Campus, 8180 W.
