Betty June Freeman, 89, of Perrysburg, OH died, Thursday, September 5, 2013, in her home. She was born in Perrysburg on June 30, 1924 to Andrew and Lila (Walters) Hillabrand and was married in Perrysburg on August 5, 1944 to Vernon Freeman. Betty had worked for a number of years in the accounting department at Toledo Edison. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Perrysburg where she was a former Sunday school teacher, office assistant and was a member of the Elizabeth Circle. An avid reader, Betty had also worked at the Way Public Library in Perrysburg. Betty is survived by her husband of 69 years, Vernon; children, Nancy J. (Rev. Robert) May, Robert T. Freeman, and Dr. Mark A. (Karen) Freeman; grandchildren, Charlotte Freeman, Emily Freeman, Thomas Freeman, Heather Tompkins, Jason Freeman, Jeremy Freeman, Heidi Freeman, Gavin (Madeline) May, and Jeffrey (Hiromi) May; ten great-grandchildren; brother, C. Thomas Hillabrand. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Carroll Hillabrand and sister, Bernice Cannaley. Friends will be received from 3-8 P.M. on Sunday in the Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St. Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133). Visitation will continue after 10 A.M. on Monday, September 9, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Second St. in Perrysburg where funeral services will begin at 11 A.M. with Pastor Gary Rode officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the church.
