Betty Jean Dominique

Betty Jean Dominique, 94, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 after a short illness. She was born June 29, 1927 to Robert and Mildred Abbott in Fostoria, OH. Betty was retired for over 30 years from Flower Hospital in Toledo. She worked as a head nurse. Betty began her training as a cadet nurse preparing for WWII. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Paul Arthur Dominique; beloved mother of Patti (Bob) Wissel; dear grandmother of Monica Prather and Alex (Crista Maddin) Wissel; great-grandmother of Jonathan Prather, Mackenzie, and Amelia Wissel. She was preceded in death by her sister, Eileen Kay and brother, Charles Abbott. She will be remembered for her loving personality and her Christmas Eve parties. During retirement her hobbies were gardening, card games, travel, and bingo. Friends and family will be received Monday, August 16, 2021 from 10-Noon at Maison Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee (419-893-7686) where funeral services will be held at noon. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in Betty’s name to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
