Betty L. Christiansen, 88, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2012, at H. B. Magruder Hospital. She was born on December 2, 1923 in Claflin, KS, the daughter of John Raven and Louise Kahler Raven. Betty married August Christiansen October 19, 1945 in Salina, KS, and he died on May 1, 2000. She attended Bowling Green State University where she obtained a Bachelors Degree in Education. She worked for the Port Clinton City Schools, teaching third grade at Bataan Elementary for thirty years retiring in 1985. She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. She was a sweet, gentle person and will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Sons: Chris Connie Christiansen of Hermiston, OR and Tim Ann Christiansen of Las Cruces, NM. Three Grandchildren: Melissa David Augustine, Kierstin and Troy Miller and eight Great-Grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Neighbors: Chad Koehl and Mandi & Rebekah Koehl. Betty is preceded in death by her infant son, Jerry, and her husband. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 24, 2012, St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, OH. Pastor Jim Lehman will preside. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Betty to St. John Lutheran Church.
