Betty J Anderson

Betty J. Anderson, 90, of Northwood, and most recently of Mentor, Ohio died Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Salida Woods Assisted Living. She was born in Napoleon, Ohio on April 16, 1926 to Grover (Mae Brubaker) Punches. She married Raymond Anderson on January 27, 1951 and he preceded her in death. Betty was employed with the Northwood Board of Education for 23 years as secretary at Olney Elementary, retiring in 1986. She served on the task force for Northwood Schools and also volunteered from 1958-1964 and 1986-2003. Active in the community, Betty worked on a variety of committees in the formative years of Northwood as a municipality and Northwood Schools. She is survived by her son: Michael (Sue) Anderson, Grandchildren, Thomas (Collen) Anderson, and Katharine (Justin) Hall, Great-Grandchildren, Zoey and Liam Anderson and Molly Hall. Friends will be received in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465 (419-666-312) from 11:00 Am until 1:00 P.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 with Father Jerry Chmiel officiating. A private family burial to follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
