Bette J. Atwater

Bette J. Atwater, 80, of Oak Harbor, died early morning Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Lane Park of Oregon, Ohio. Bette was born June 11, 1935, in Port Clinton, Ohio, to Wesley J. and Margaret G. (Wilkenson) Druyor. On April 28, 1962, in Port Clinton she married Donald R. Atwater, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1996. Bette was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor. She was a member of the Womens Guild at church and a member of Epsilon Eta Sorority of Oak Harbor. Bette helped with the Shriners Roadrunners teddy bear program for kids and enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Bette is survived by her daughter, Shelley (Rick) Asmus of Oak Harbor; granddaughter, Melissa (Noah) Neiderhouse of Oak Harbor; step grandchildren, Jennifer (William) Ginn of LaGrange, KY, and Kelly (Luis) Bonilla of Springboro, OH; great grandchildren, Karmela and Gabriela; step-great grandchildren, Alexis, Kylie, Madyson and Bryce; sister, Connie (Bernie) Tibbs; and nephews, Jeff Tibbs and Todd Tibbs of NC. Her parents and husband preceded her in death. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2016, at St. Paul United Church of Christ, with interment will follow in Salem Township Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
