Bessie M. Samsen

Bessie M. Samsen, 75, of Genoa, died Sunday evening, July 31, 2016, at Heartland of Oregon. Bessie was born October 25, 1940, in Clay Center, Ohio, to Fred and Bessie (Batch) Klatt. In Ferndale, Michigan, she married James H. Samsen on June 16, 1963, and he survives. Bessie worked during the 1980s for Honeywell Corp. on Manhattan Blvd. in Toledo as an inventory clerk. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elmore. Bessie enjoyed playing Bunko, working with crafts and ceramics, painting pictures and working in her garden. In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by her sons, Dale Samsen of Millbury and Scott Samsen of Delta, Ohio, as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Merrill, Lyle and Warren Klatt, Eileen Helle, Joanne Furnis and Marjorie Wessman. According to the familys wishes, there will be no services. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Genoa, has assisted the family with arrangements.
