Bessie Ruth Boney

Bessie Ruth Boney, 71, of Port Clinton, OH passed away, Wednesday, August 05, 2009 at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born on June 23, 1938 in Decatur, GA, the daughter of Charlie and Annie Ruth ONeal Duncan. Bessie graduated from the Tuskegee Institute, Tuskegee, AL in 1958 with an Associates Degree. She was married to James Thomas Boney and he preceded her in death in September 2007. Bessie ministered alongside Rev. Dr. Edward Husband, Sr. and Rev. David Hack and served as the Associate Pastor at the Church of the Nazarene, Port Clinton, OH under Rev. Carolyn Joseph. She worked at the UniRoyal Co. in Port Clinton for 11 years and was a manager of Hertz rental in Atlanta, GA. Bessie loved to crochet and sing. She volunteered at Riverview Healthcare Campus and numerous charitable organizations. Bessie organized the re-opening of the First Baptist Church in Port Clinton, OH. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. Survivors include: Daughters: Angela Samiyyah Ali Daniels of Atlanta, GA, Luana Sissy Daniels of Port Clinton, OH; Judith Judy Daniels of Atlanta, GA, Sarah Daniels of Port Clinton, OH and Cheryl Cheri Micah Daniels of Port Clinton, OH; 9 Grandchildren; 5 Great-Grandchildren and Sister: Linda Tony Wright of Port Clinton, OH. Bessie was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be 2-8PM, Monday, August 10, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Carolyn Joseph & Rev. Brian Curley at 1:00PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Erie Shores Assembly of God, Port Clinton, OH. Interment will be in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to the Port Clinton Church of the Nazarene.
