Bertha, Birdie Minier, 88 of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Monday, November 17, 2008 at Firelands Hospital, Sandusky, OH. She was born on October 22, 1920 in Lacarne, OH to Charles Klotz and Arvada Floro. Birdie was a secretary for A.T. Emmett, retiring after 20 years. Birdie will be remembered by many for caring hugs and contagious laughter while volunteering nearly 28 years for the Magruder Hospital Auxiliary and 17 years for Red Cross blood mobiles. Birdie was a member of the Port Clinton Ladies Moose, Port Clinton VFW, and Port Clinton American Legion organizations. Birdie loved dancing, playing cards, laughing, volunteering, and spending time with her friends and family. Survivors include: Children: Robert Watt of Oak Harbor, OH, Ronald Betty Watt of Oak Harbor, OH; Stepdaughter: Sister Serra; Special Friends: Norm Mulligan Family; 5 Grandchildren and 10 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her special friend, Norm Mulligan, parents and brother. She will be greatly missed by all of the hearts she has touched. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 19, 2008 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, from 2-8PM with family present from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. Burial services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Stein Hospice or to a charity of the donors choice.
