Bernice A. Schimmel

Bernice A. Schimmel, 80, of Genoa, Ohio, died Thursday morning, January 10, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. Bernice was born May 26, 1932, in Curtice, Ohio, to Forrest A. and Elsie Zunk Marsh. She was married to Lloyd Schimmel. Bernice was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa and worked for several years as a switchboard operator for St. Charles Hospital in Oregon. She was also a beauty operator in the Genoa area for several years. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Childress, of Walbridge, sons, Jimi Schimmel of Curtice and Scott Schimmel of Genoa, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, brother, Joe Sonny Marsh of Illinois, and sisters, Donna Dusseau of Graytown and Patricia Snider of Millbury. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, daughters, Charlene Dempsey and Linda Widmer, and sisters, Beverly Huston and Myrtle Whitcomb. To honor Bernices wishes, there will be no visitation or services. The family suggests that memorials for Bernice be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church, 313 Main St., Genoa, OH 43430; or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430, has assisted the family with arrangements.
