Bernice M Pollauf

Bernice “Bernie” M. (Swartz) Pollauf, 89, of Port Clinton, OH died Wednesday, January 12, 2017 at Edgewood Manor in Port Clinton. She was born in Walbridge, OH on March 9, 1927, to Arthur and Nellie (Biniker) Swartz and was married on July 31, 1959 in Toledo to Robert A. Pollauf who preceded her in death on April 14, 1997. Bernice had worked as a food server for 20 years for the Port Clinton Public Schools, retiring in 1987. She also worked as a secretary for the Toledo Hospital and a local hardware store. She was a member of Moose Lodge #1610 and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Clinton. She is survived by her children, Rick (Pauline) Basinger of Port Clinton, OH and Dawn (Tim) Harnad of Oregon, OH; grandchildren, Eric (Lacey), Scott (Natalie), Brian, and Alicia Basinger, Gregg Harnad, Heather (Ben) Cable and Holly (Caleb) Mason; great grandchildren, Cloey, Julia, Emma, Abby, and Jaiden Basinger, Alexia Harnad, Alaina Doust, Luke and Brooke Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Larry Basinger; and siblings, Luella, Bobby, A.J., Phillip, Lester and Erma. Friends will be received from 11:00 AM.-12:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH 43551 (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M. (noon) followed by burial in Fort Meigs Cemetery.
