Bernice Bettinger

Bernice Bettinger, age 82, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2016, at home. She was born September 11, 1933, to Forrest and Beatrice Giffin. Bernice grew up in Sylvania and was a graduate of Burnham High School. She was a beautiful woman that was loved dearly and will be missed beyond words. She was an amazing mom and grandmother, and always had a smile on her face. Her family was her life. She was married to Melvin Bettinger, her high school sweetheart, for 62 years. Bernice is survived by her daughters, Karen Rosebrock, Beth (Mike) Bruegger, Brenda Clixby, and son, David (Jami) Bettinger. Her large family includes 9 grandchildren, Tracy, Josh, Kristy, Matt, Adam, Tiffany, Jennifer, McKenzi and DeLaini, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, son Jeffrey, and her parents. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with visitation from 5 -7 pm.
