Bernard J. Mahler, 93, of Perrysburg, OH died on Friday, September 4, 2015, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. He was born on July 17, 1922 to Fredrick and Lena (Smith) Mahler and was married to Glenna M. Ruffing on January 4, 1947 in Carey, OH who preceded him in death on June 10, 1984. Bernard was a graduate of Perrysburg High School and worked as a tool and die maker for over 43 years with Peters Stamping in Perrysburg retiring in 1985. He enjoyed woodworking and walking all over Perrysburg and at Side Cut Metropark. He is survived by his children, Kenneth A. (Patricia) Mahler, Laura S. (Douglas) Smith, and Diane M. (Gary) Robison; grandchildren, Kenneth Mahler, Stacey Stezoski, Melissa Mahler, Greg Smith, Steve Smith, Andrew Robison, Kyle Robison; great grandchildren, Jenna, Lauren, Amelia, Chance, Audrey, Kaleb, and Landon. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Glenna, daughter, Linda Boomgarden, four sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 P.M. on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133) where funeral services will be held 11 A.M. on Monday, September 7, 2015 with burial to follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to the Toledo Area Metroparks.
