Bernard J Mackey

Bernard J. Mackey passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday, April 29, 2018. He was born April 1, 1937 to the late Bernard Mackey Sr. and Emma Fellhauer in Toledo, Ohio. He married the former Sharon Abel in 1956 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Bernard worked for Libbey-Owens-Ford for 43 years in many different jobs. He was a very talented man and could do anything, always helping his children and taking care of everyone in need. He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing, traveling and time spent with family and friends. Leaving to cherish his memory are his loving wife Sharon; son James (Kathy) Mackey; daughters Christine Miller and Sherry (Keith) Petit; granddaughter Angela Petit; grandsons Jessee and Keith Petit and Jim and Joe Mackey; 5 great grandchildren; brother Robert (Karen) Mackey; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey) on Sunday May 6 after 2 PM where funeral services will follow at 7 PM. Cremation and burial will be private at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests memorials be in the form of contributions to cancer research or a charity of the donors choice.
