Bernard "Bernie" L. Roberts, Sr.

Bernard (Bernie) L. Roberts, Sr., 90, passed away January 30, 2022 at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital/Hospice of NW Ohio following a brief illness. Bernie was born November 21, 1931 in Zanesville, Ohio to Howard and Catherine (Lichtner) Roberts. He married Marie Ann (Joswick) on July 7,1950 and they shared 60 years together until she passed on September 5, 2010.

Bernie worked for Maumee Plumbing & Heating Supply, Perrysburg, Ohio for over 30 years and was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Oregon, Ohio.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, carpentry, gardening, cooking, traveling through Ohio and being outdoors.

He is survived by his children; Mari Michael Richard of Santa Rosa, CA, Martha “Marti” Anne (Thomas) Palenske of Toledo, OH and Bernard “Bob” (Teresa) Roberts, Jr. of West Chester, OH; three granddaughters, Emily (Carl) Wiencek, Rebecca Roberts, Madison Roberts, great-grandson Theodore and  many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A celebration of Bernie’s life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11 A.M. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4155 Pickle Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616. For those unable to attend in person, you may view the service on Facebook at "Prince of Peace Luth Church".

Bernie will be laid to rest next to his wife, Marie, at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville, Ohio.
