Bernadine Houston

Houston Bernadine Bernadine Houston, age 85, passed away Saturday November 12, 2011 at Sunset House after a 10 year struggle with Parkinsons Disease. The daughter of Arthur Clifford and Pietrina Clifford White, she was born August 19, 1926 in Detroit, MI. Bernadine married Francis Houston on August 2, 1947 and they enjoyed 64 wonderful years together. Bernadine and Frank loved to travel. Their travels took them all over the world. She also enjoyed bridge, golf and square dancing. Her true joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her husband, Francis; children, Thomas Martha Houston, Robert Jill Houston, Patricia Christopher Cochrane, Mark Amy Houston; grandchildren, Leigh Reed, Brian Brooke, Megan Sean, Jennifer Mark, David, Lynn Jason, Christopher Chip, Elizabeth, Emily; great grandchildren, Oliver, Isaac, Conor; and brother, Arthur Bud Marti Clifford. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Rosemarie Monte. Friends may visit the family on Tuesday from 2-5PM and 7-9PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd with a Rosary at 7:30 PM. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 AM followed by Mass of the Resurrection at St. Joseph Catholic Church Sylvania at 10:00 AM.
