Barbara Ann Zunk

Barbara Ann Zunk, 62, of Oak Harbor, Ohio, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and co-worker, passed away on May 20, 2013, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio. Barb was born December 16, 1950, in Port Clinton, Ohio. She was the daughter of Frederick and Lucille Lorensen Zunk. Barb graduated from Oak Harbor High School Penta Career Center where she studied cosmetology. After graduating from high school Barb became a beautician. Some of her early career highlights were styling the hair of the mother of Olympic gold medalist ice skater, Scott Hamilton, and being chosen by Vidal Sassoon to let him cut and style her hair in his then famous bob. While being a loving stay-at-home mom for her two children, Barb enjoyed crafting, cooking, and being outside in nature. Barb worked at the United States Postal Service in Fremont, Ohio, as a rural postal mail carrier. She loved her co-workers as well as her patrons and enjoyed seeing them every day. Barbs family would like to recognize and send along their heartfelt appreciation to all of her USPS co-workers, their families and her rural route patrons for their friendship, unconditional love and support of her over the years. Barb is survived by her children, Heath Mary Sindeldecker and Dustin Sindeldecker, mother, Lucille A. Lorensen Zunk, siblings Dennis Jeanie Zunk, Deborah Zunk, Susanne Zunk, Cynthia Zunk, Timothy Janet Zunk; nephew, Garret Zunk, grandchildren, Paige, Noah, Caden, and father of her children, Richard Sindeldecker. She was preceded in death by her father, Frederick J. Zunk. Viewing hours are 2:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, with an hour visitation prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m., at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor S.E. Co. Rd. #17, Oak Harbor, Ohio. Final resting place will be in Roose Cemetery, Salem Township, Oak Harbor, Ohio. A bereavement gathering will be held back at the church following interment. Memorial donations in memory of Barbara may be given to St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Building Fund, 9789 W. Oak Harbor S.E. Rd. #17, Oak Harbor, OH 43449.
