Barbara G. Walker

Barbara G. Walker passed away Thursday evening May 23rd at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania. She was born on June 19, 1938 in Chicago and raised in Santa Fe, N.M. by her late adoptive parents Dr. John F. and Ruth Glenn. Barbara is survived by her sister Merry G. Dikeman; son, John M. Hunsley Shari Jan; daughter, Carolyn Gigi Boyle Patrick; step-children, Dennis Walker Robin Severns, Rebecca Walker Cynthia Black, and Timothy Walker Evelyn; granddaughter, Amanda Whittaker Anthony Tartaglia; 2 step-grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the Rev. Dennis R. Walker and her first husband George M. Hunsley, father of John & Gigi. Barbara was passionate about theatre and spent many years acting & singing in the Santa Fe Community Theatre and more recently worked at The Toledo Repertoire Theatre. She was manager of Old West End Security for a number of years and also helped produce the Old West End Newsletter. For several years she was on the organizing committee of the Old West End Festival. She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church and enjoyed doing cross-stitch, reading, and talking about NASCAR with her son. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on July 4th at the Agnes Reynolds Jackson Aboretum at the corner of Delaware and Robinwood in the Old West End of Toledo.
