Barbara Ann Sponseller

Barbara Ann (Nickles) Sponseller, age 84, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on September 5, 1930 in Massillon, Ohio to Ernest and Lucille (Rowe) Nickles. Barbara graduated in 1948 from Navarre High School and in 1952 from Ohio Wesleyan, where she was a music education major. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Maumee and was a Christian education leader for many years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold; children, Mark (Shelly) of Canton, Keith (Amy) of Holland, Ohio and Heidi (Darrel) Hotmire of Bluffton, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan (Caitlyn), Laura, Michael, Megan Sponseller, and Julianna and Erin Hotmire; great grandchild, Noelle Sponseller; sisters, Germaine (James) Gerber and Margaret (William) Brideweser. She was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends may visit the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Roth Memorial Cemetery, Monclova, OH. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Drive Suite B, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
