Barbara Snyir

Barbara A. Snyir, 73, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021. She was born in Toledo to Tom and Bea (Bryant) Elder on July 20, 1947. Barb graduated from Rogers High School in 1966 and married her loving husband, Michael J. Snyir in 1971. She loved 40’s and 50’s big band music and Gaither Band gospel music. She was a fan of classic movies of the same era and was a word game enthusiast on the internet. Barb was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease and became active in the boxing program at Internal Boxing Club. She had multiple jobs over the years including as waitress with the original Tony Packos, on the marketing team for The Pharm, and she provided in home childcare for many families. Barb is survived by her husband, Michael J. Snyir; daughter, Amy Snyir; half-sisters, Carol Helminiak, Lisa Fulton; brother-in-law, Andrew (Latisha) Snyir; and many online friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Golden. Following Barb’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Walker Funeral Home, Toledo (419-841-2422). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barb’s name may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation of Northwest Ohio, 150 W. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, OH 43551.
