Barbara June Saggese

December 5, 1944 — November 17, 2010

Barbara Young Saggese, 66, peacefully went home to God on November 17, 2010 after a ten year battle with diabetes and its complications. Born December 5, 1944 in Detroit Michigan to Sherman and Vera Young she graduated from Grosse Point High School, Grosse Point, Michigan and Adrian College, Adrian Michigan. She worked as an accountant for the Max Davis Diamond Galerie in Sylvania, Ohio until her retirement in 2002. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Toledo Ohio. In spite of her many chronic health issues Barbara maintained a positive attitude throughout her life. Her upbeat personality masked from her family and friends just how fragile her health was for the last ten years. She was a woman full of life, love, godly character, and wisdom. She lived her life for her husband, children, grandchildren, family and friends. She was devoted to loving and serving others. Her grandchildren will certainly remember her loving presence at soccer games and family gatherings. Her children will remember her as an incredible listener who shared in their joys and sorrows as if they were her own, supporting them no matter what the circumstance. Her husband will cherish forever the years of love and life shared with his dearest friend and life partner. Barbara is survived by her husband of 41 years, Paul Saggese; children Robert S. Shannon Saggese of Sylvania, Ohio, Shannon Jamie Kusian of Toledo, Ohio, Michael D. Saggese of Canton, Michigan; six grandchildren; brother, Robert Young of Dayton, Ohio; nephews Randy Becky Young and Scott Susan Young of Cleveland, Ohio; brother in law John Carol Saggese and family of Sylvania, Ohio,; sister in law Arlene Charles Tucker and family of Temperance, Michigan, mother in law Thelma Saggese of Toledo, Ohio, and multiple other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins including her cousin Richard Lynn Million of Devils Lake, Michigan with whom she was especially close. She leaves behind many friends to join her family in mourning her passing including, Dan and Judy Nearhood, Art Lippert, Laura Hanzi and Charlie Sinclair. She was preceded in death by her sister, Diane Young Wallace of Dayton, OH and her parents.
