Barbara Lou Royce

Barbara Lou Royce (Dickey), age 77, of Perrysburg, passed away September 26, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born on October 15, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to Charles Dickey and Dorothy Dickey (Allen). As a teenager she relocated to Toledo to be raised by her cousin John and his wife Genieve Fries, graduating from Libbey High School in 1956. Barbara worked a long career at Wolfert’s Market on Airport Highway, providing friendly neighborhood service to the Northwest Ohio community for over 25 years. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church on Hawley Street until its closing at which time she became an active member of Zoar Lutheran Church of Perrysburg. She was an avid camper spending many weeks as a volunteer at Maumee Bay State Park. Barbara was also an outstanding cook and seamstress, providing countless homemade meals and quilts for her large family through many loving years. Barbara is survived by her husband of 57 years, Richard D. Royce; brothers Thomas Dickey and Dale Dickey; sister Gwen Dixon; son Richard E. Royce (Kathy), daughter Vicki Galligan (Dennis), and daughter Michelle Bittner (David); grandchildren Jason Royce (Nicole), Brandi Cooper (Todd), Tara Royce, Allison Babbitt (Shawn), Patrick Bittner, Abigail Galligan, and Maggie Bittner; great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Nicolas, Brianna, Logan, Jade, Chance, Zoey, Zane, Ryder, and Chloe. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Brittney Royce. The family will be receiving visitors at Witzler-Shank Funeral home, 222 East South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, on Tuesday September 29th, from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11 am with visitation preceding at 10 am,Wednesday September 30th at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana Ave. Perrysburg. Interment will follow immediately at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg.
