Barbara (Barb) Overholt, a lifelong Trilby resident and beloved member of the Toledo community, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on November 19, 1938, Barb graduated from Whitmer High School in the Class of 1956 and pursued her passion for helping others by becoming a registered nurse. She received her nursing training at Mercy School of Nursing and spent many years caring for patients at St. Charles Hospital with skill, grace, and compassion.
Barb was also a spirited traveler who found joy in exploring new places and cultures. Her love of travel inspired her to open her own agency, The Travel Advisory, where she helped others plan their own adventures with the same enthusiasm she brought to her own journeys.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Donald Overholt, who passed in November 2023; her sister Marge Reissig; her beloved son Kevin Michael Myers; and her brother Brian R. Jenne.
Barb is lovingly remembered by her children: James Myers, Scott Myers, Robin (Joe) Axe, and Todd (Martin) Myers; and her stepchildren: Jeff Overholt, Karen (Joe) Ambrose, and Bethanne Counts. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in her grandchildren: Joe Axe, Austin Axe, Alyssa Harris, Dana Myers, and James Myers III.
Visitation will be held at Walker Funeral Home on Sylvania Avenue this Saturday, November 22nd from 9am to 11am with a memorial service from 11:00am to 11:30am with entombment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania.
Barb's life was marked by deep devotion to family, a nurse's heart that never stopped giving, and an adventurous spirit that embraced the world. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
