Barbara Marie Smith

Barbara Marie Brown Smith was born into Eternity on April 30, 2014. Barbara joined us on earth August 31, 1939 as the baby girl of Bernice and Earl Brown and sister of Robert, Donald, Sharon, and David. She learned to love her Savior as a young child and served Him faithfully as the wife of Lewis Smith for almost 58 years. They married September 8, 1956 as teenaged sweethearts and had six children together. Lewis Kathy Smith, Linda Frank Smith, Connie Cory DeWees, Cheryl Bill Winzenburg, Robin Jeff Kipplen, and Teresa Dan McCormick learned that every part of your life belongs to God and every day is a gift they should use for his glory. These truths have been passed on to 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Although life was not perfect, it was good and she never forgot that this world was not her home. Even when she was told by doctors that her health conditions could lead to physical death, she shared her faith with them stating, You cant scare me with heaven! and If the Father comes for me, get out of the way! Today she is sitting at the feet of the Savior she longed to see, and although her family will miss her terribly, we rejoice that she is at peace and envy her place in heaven. Friends and family will be received at Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will continue from 10:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM at Oak Bend Church, 11275 Eckel Junction Rd, Perrysburg, Ohio.
