Barbara Lynn (Wierzba) Drusbacky, 71, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on July 29, 1949 in Port Clinton, the daughter of the late Edmund and Ethel (Wilder) Wierzba. On November 23, 1973, she married Donovan G. Drusbacky and he survives. Barb graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1967 and attended Bowling Green State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. She then went on to teach social studies at Danbury High School for a year, and then at Ehove Joint Vocational School for 29 years, retiring in 2013. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Port Clinton; member of the Port Clinton School Board of Education for almost 40 years as well as a member of the Vanguard Board of Education for many years. She was also a past Treasurer of the Port Clinton Athletic Boosters, member of the Port Clinton Fullbackers Club, member of the Port Clinton Elks Club; and member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club. “We Are PC” was the motto she lived by as she loved, supported and attended events and functions related to the Port Clinton City Schools. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, being a collector of hummels, crystal, and lladrus, cooking, traveling, eating ice cream, and dancing. She was an avid sports fan, especially Notre Dame, and the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers. Her love for animals was evident by the numerous stray cats that she had taken in and cared for over the years, which led her to do volunteer work at the Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary. Most importantly, she loved her family dearly, and enjoyed family gatherings and babysitting her nieces and nephews. Survivors include her husband, Don; son, Christopher Drusbacky, Port Clinton; sisters, Sandy (Joseph) Prater, Kenton, Ohio, Kathleen Bush, York, Pennsylvania; brothers, Phillip (Debbie) Wierzba, Catawba Island, Mark Wierzba, Port Clinton, and Keith Wierzba, Sandusky, Ohio; eleven nieces and hephews, many great nieces and nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Tom Bush. Visitation will be held at the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm by members of the Altar Rosary Society. On Saturday, July 31, additional visitation will held at the Funeral Home from 11 am until prayers at 11:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison Street, Port Clinton, Ohio with Father Jonathan Wight officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Ottawa County; Stein Hospice; or to the Port Clinton Athletic Boosters.
