BARBARA JEAN KOSMIDER Barbara Jean Kosmider, 84, of Perrysburg, OH passed away peacefully, Tuesday evening, Dec 31, 2013. She was born on May 3, 1929, in Fremont, Ohio. Barbara was the daughter of the late Dorothy Mitchell Harrison and Raymond Edward Harrison. She graduated from Scott High School and went on to study nursing at the Mercy School of Nursing, Columbus, Ohio and became a R.N.. She worked at the Willy's Overland, employed as the company nurse for a short period of time and married John Kosmider of Toledo, Ohio in 1950. Barbara and John moved to Perrysburg in 1965. Living for over thirty years at their home. Barbara was an active member of the Perrysburg community, and a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church where she enjoyed being a Flower Guild member. She also was a long-standing member of the Country Garden Club, Belmont C.C., and Carranor Club. Barbara enjoyed traveling the world with her late husband and spending the Christmas holidays in the Caribbean with her family. She was a member of The London Ladies ( Pat Dodd, Betty Rank, Mary Wolfe, and the late Dottie Yager and Betty Davis). The London Ladies visited London every year, antiquing and attending plays in London; the London Ladies, even braved the crowds one year to attend Princess Diana's wedding. Barbara was an avid reader; she especially enjoyed reading English History; she was a wonderful gardener, and loved to cook, having attended the Cordon Bleu Cooking School in London one summer with her daughter J.J. Everybody loved Barbara; her nickname “Bubbles,” as a former Brownie troop leader, captured her loving spirit; she was kind, creative, humorous, and above all, a wonderful friend.. She simply made everyone smile and had the ability to find goodness in everyone's soul. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and both brothers, Don and Chuck Harrison. She is survived by her daughters; Alexia of Providence, R.I, and Jana (J.J.) of Perrysburg, OH; son, Mark ( and his wife, June ) of Waterville, OH; grandson, Harrison of Norman, OK; and special friend, Dorrin Birch of Perrysburg, OH; and her cat, Gumdrop. Funeral services will be private and a Memorial Service will be held at the Carranor in Perrysburg in the Spring. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider : Wood County Humane Society, or the Country Garden Club.
