Barbara Jean (Brzuchalski) Brown, 71, of Perrysburg, Ohio passed away peacefully Thursday, November 1, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 5, 1946 to Sylvester and Stella (Jasinski) Brzuchalski. Barbara married Stephen A. Brown on August 31, 1968 at Good Shephard Church in Toledo. Together they raised their family. Children were the light of Barbara’s life, and she often said her happiest times were when she was taking care of children, at one point caring for 5 at once, while making it look like a cakewalk. Her home was always “Kid Central” of the neighborhood, the place everyone knew they could go because she allowed kids to be kids. Her patience was unparalleled and she had the presence that made one feel loved. Barbara was also a talented seamstress, baker and decorator of cakes and cookies, and anything that involved crafting. Kids would come from blocks over for her cookies and her friends looked forward to her baklava every year. Her children and grandchildren always had the best handmade costumes, and she could always be counted on for perfect alterations, as she had no like for “shoddy” work, as she would say. She passed down her talents to her Granddaughter Abby, just as her mother Stella taught Barb and her daughter. Barbara worked at AP Parts and Toledo Trust. She was a faithful member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Along with her husband, Stephen, Barb is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Teresa) Bacon (Brown); son, Matthew Brown; grandchildren, Nathaniel Bacon IV and Abigail Bacon; and brother, James (Patricia) Brzuchalski. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Brzuchalski. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 from 3:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. with a scripture service at 7:00 P.M. Prayers will be recited at 9:45 A.M. in the funeral home on Thursday, November 8, 2018. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front Street, Perrysburg with burial in St. Rose Cemetery. Memorial donations in Barbara’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
