Barbara (Rossopoulou) Hartford, age 83, of Northwood, OH, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2022, at Bay Park Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born in Veria, Greece on February 11, 1939, and at age 13 moved with her family near Athens, Greece. It was in Athens where she met the love of her life, Richard Hartford, where he was stationed with the Air Force. They wed in 1960 and shortly thereafter, began her life in the United States. Barb worked in the human resource department for Standard Oil in Oregon, OH, and retired years later from BP Refinery.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Richard Hartford; her children, Steve Hartford and Sue (Ravi) Narra; grandchildren, Sam, Erika, Noah, and Stephanie; and extended family in Greece. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Harry; sister, Despina; and son, Harry.
Barb loved nothing more than spending time with her family and sharing the love of her Greek heritage. She was very spiritual and devoted her life to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where she was a member of the Ladies of Philoptochos Society and Young at Heart. It was her strong Greek Orthodox faith that guided her throughout life. The family wishes to thank the Bay Park Hospital staff and ProMedica Hospice for their outstanding care and compassion. A special thank you to Father Larry for his ongoing support and love during Barb’s final days.
The family will receive friends at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 740 N. Superior St., Toledo, on Monday, March 7th from 10:00 to 11:00 with funeral service following at 11:00. Interment will be at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
