Barbara Joyce Ervin

Barbara Joyce Ervin, age 73, a resident of Oak Leaf Village in Sylvania, died July 8, 2016. Born August 23, 1942 in Toledo, Barb was a special education teacher for 35 years. She taught most recently at Kobacker (at the University of Toledo Medical Center) for Toledo Public Schools. Devout in her Christian Faith, Barb enjoyed volunteering as a chaplain at the former VA Hospital in Detroit. The two greatest joys in her life were spending time with her grandchildren and enjoying the companionship of her dogs. She was a mother of four, grandmother of ten and sister of two. Memorial services will be private. Memorials can be made to a charity of the donors choice. A special thank you to the staff and residents of Oak Leaf Village for becoming surrogate family to Barbara during her stay.
