Barbara J. Eisenhauer

Barbara J. Eisenhauer, age 87, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at her home with her loving family by her side. Barbara was born January 30, 1936, in Toledo to James and Johanna Robarge. She was an OB Nurse for many years and specialized in caring for high-risk pregnancies. Barbara married Carl “Ike” Eisenhauer when she was 21 years old, and they celebrated 66 wonderful years of marriage. They made a phenomenal team and together they could accomplish anything.

Barbara enjoyed fishing on Lake Erie, gambling on the slots and playing cards. She loved traveling with Ike. Some of her favorite destinations were Egypt, Panama, and the many Caribbean Cruises they went on. Barbara was also a talented seamstress, and crocheted blankets. She was very active in her church, St. James Lutheran, and held the honor of ringing the church bells every Sunday. Barbara enjoyed a glass of wine after a long day, and cherished spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Carl “Ike” Eisenhauer; children, Cindy (Duane) Homan, Carl (Michelle) Eisenhauer, Linda Curtis; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Rev. Haldon (Margie) Robarge, Ruth (Rev. Gary) Mayer, Tracy Lustic; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; and countless friends and her church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and brother, Paul (Diane) Robarge.

In honor of Barbara and Ike’s 66th Anniversary, friends and family are welcome to gather on Thursday, May 4, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH. Visitation will continue Friday, May 5, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 4727 Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH, where a Funeral Service will begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
