Barbara J. Eenigenburg, 87, of Fostoria, OH and formerly Elmore, OH passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Good Shepherd Home in Fostoria, OH. She was born and adopted on September 1, 1937 in Muskegon, MI to Harold and Linda (Paladina) Martin. On April 9, 1955 in Fremont, MI she married Gareth “Gary” J. Eenigenburg, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2024. Barb previously worked as a custodian for Woodmore Local Schools and as a homemaker. She was a very active member of Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Fostoria, OH for many years and in Florida while she lived there. Barb helped Gary grow and run a mowing business while in Florida.
Barb enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She loved traveling with her husband and camping with family. Her grandkids held a special place in her heart. She was a strong woman and a faithful Christian, who overcame a stroke and breast cancer. Barb could make friends with anyone easily and everywhere she went. She was always willing to do anything to help anybody.
Barb is survived by her daughters, Evelyn A. Doyle, Carol M. (Brian) Lieske, Barbara A. Hanna, and Mary Ann (Thomas) Stone-Meek, son, Jay A. (Gloria) Eenigenburg, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and former son-in-law, Dennis Doyle. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, David Stone, Jr., sons-in-law, David Stone, Sr. and Mike Hanna, and great grandson, Damon Lieske.
Visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH with funeral services to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, OH at a later date. Memorial contributions in memory of Barbara can be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Fund or the Alzheimer’s Association.
