BARBARA COOPER Barbara Cooper, 93, of Perrysburg, passed away January 25, 2019 at Sunset Village in Sylvania. Barbara was born September 15, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Horace W. and Lydia M. (Gaupp) Gray. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Michigan. Barbara married James H. Cooper on October 31, 1953 and he preceded her in death on August 21, 1995. Barbara worked as a nurse for different hospitals in the Toledo Area as well as a private practice. She delivered meals for Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Barbara was a longtime supporter of the Toledo Museum of Art; was a member of the Toledo Zoo, WGTE and the Investment Club. She is survived by her children, James Cooper, Lynn Cooper, Margaret (Ron) Crane, Paula Nichols and John Cooper; grandchildren, Megan Cooper, Kenny Cooper, Amy Nowlin, Krystin Cooper, Kecia Nelson, and Kreg (Jennifer) Nichols. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Per Barbara’s request services will be private. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, Perrysburg (419-874-3133). Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Toledo Museum of Art or WGTE.
